The California Teratogen Information Service, or CTIS, has a toll-free Pregnancy Risk Information hot line reachable by the number 800.532.3749. The CTIS hot line can help women who intend to see their pregnancy to term to understand the effect of different drugs, alcohol and lifestyle choices that can affect an unborn child. The main purpose of the Line is to educate women about preventable birth defects. Counselors can also refer teen patients to the CTIS, which will contact him or her.
